Portable First Aid Rooms
In any business or industry, injury or illness can strike a worker and require instant medical care in first aid rooms. However it’s safe to say that mining, construction, agricultural, manufacturing and other industrial services carry a higher risk factor than most. Despite rigorous occupational health and safety regulations, and the best efforts to ensure a safe workplace, accidents can and do happen, and first aid rooms are an essential requirement. And on many worksites it is actually required by law.
Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act a first aid room must be provided and maintained at any construction site at which more than 100 persons work or at any other workplace at which more than 200 persons work. Other workplaces not covered by this provision of the regulation may still have circumstances that require a first aid room.
Fully Equipped and Ready to Go
At Port Shipping Containers our shipping container first aid rooms are available in 20 foot and 40 foot options, and come equipped with lighting and power, reverse cycle air conditioning, an examination couch, sink, desk, chair, fridge and hot water system. They also feature high quality medical supplies and emergency equipment, including an automated external defibrillator, eyewash station, oxygen mask, scoop stretcher, fire extinguisher and fire blanket.
A transportable first aid room has many benefits because it can be on hand from day one to ensure that your worksite is always prepared for the worst. It can also be moved around on large sites to make sure it is close to the action and ready for any emergency situation.
First Aid Rooms for Festivals, Roadshows and Farms
Though they were originally conceived for construction and mining sites, a portable shipping container first aid room can be used anywhere a first aid room is required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Music festivals, markets, outdoor concerts, rallies, trade exhibitions, travelling roadshows…these can all benefit from a portable first aid room. Even permanent sites where portability is not necessarily required, like farms and caravan sites, can benefit from the utility of a well-stocked, compact and fully equipped first aid room.

Shipping Container Cafes
A shipping container cafe or ‘Pop Up Cafe’ is a great way to make your business stand out from the competition. If we’re honest with ourselves, not many people can start their day without a skinny latte or a long black, and meeting for a coffee has become so much a part of the Australian culture that it’s hard to imagine how we socialised before it became so popular! Some of the most successful cafes are tiny start-ups with little more than a good coffee machine, a great barista and a cafe. Unfortunately though, building and rental costs can really bite into a small business’ profits…even a tiny hole in the wall cafe needs to pump out a lot of cappuccinos or short blacks before it can cover the rent. And that’s where the shipping container cafe comes into play! Take a look at some videos of our Shipping Container Cafes that we built for our customers below.
Shipping Container Kitchens
A shipping container kitchen is a practical solution for businesses looking to expand on their current cooking facilities. An auxiliary kitchen is usually required when the initial kitchen is too small or too far away from patrons, especially if they are dining in an outdoor area away from the main facilities. These units are particularly popular with clubs and recreational parks where the kitchen is out in the open and can be locked up when not in use. As our shipping container kitchens ar built off-site at our factory, this means there is no interruptions to your business – no tradesman coming and going or loud construction noises at your premises.
